Bartholomew Kuma - Aid to Luffy and Marines

bartholomew kuma is the key to revolutionary army's victory

Bartholomew Kuma has been a major player on both the sides of the World Government and Revolutionary Army. Although we have not seen much of his work for the Revolutionary Army, it has been shown that he at least used to be an important Revolutionary Army member.

During the War of the Best (Marineford war), Bartholomew Kuma proved useful for the Navy and the Pacifista’s created with the help of Bartholomew Kuma also played a key role in defeating Whitebeard Pirates.

Bartholomew Kuma has also helped Luffy many times since he is the son of Monkey D. Dragon which shows that even though Kuma is a member of the Navy, he is still loyal to the Revolutionary Army. He mentions it to Rayleigh that he is a member of Revolutionary Army and he “doesn’t have enough time left”.

Where his Loyalty Lies

Even though Kuma Currently is a member of the Navy, he has shown his loyalty for Dragon many times over. When he was ordered to kill the straw hats and all the survivors at Thriller Bark, he did not because of Luffy being Dragon’s son.

Also, during the fight between Kizaru and Straw Hats, it was becoming tough for the Straw Hats to deal with the Navy and they could all have been captured but Kuma interfered and helped all the straw hats in escaping Kizaru.

So all I want to say is that even though Kuma is a member of the Navy, he still is loyal towards the Revolutionary Army. Although he may be under Vegapunk’s control now, he used to be loyal to Dragon and so, there has to be some scheme which required Bartholomew Kuma to be a member of the Navy.

Kuma is the Key to victory

Dragon is a smart guy. For leading an organization as big as the Revolutionary Army, the leader has to plan every next move of his efficiently and have a reason for every decision that he makes.

So, I believe that Bartholomew Kuma is not just a member of the Navy, he was actually sent by Dragon to infiltrate the Navy. Even though believes that Kuma is under their control, there has to be something that Kuma has done which will help Dragon in the final battle between Revolutionary army and the Navy.

But what could it be? What changed in the Navy after Bartholomew Kuma entered. My answer is the Pacifista. Yes, the Navy has become somewhat reliant on the Pacifista’s. Whenever they have to take out small fry opponents, or even mediocre level opponents, they mostly set off Pacifista’s on them.

I believe that this dependence on the Pacifista’s will be the Navy’s undoing, And, I believe that Dragon sent Kuma to the infiltrate the Navy so he could somehow take control over the Pacifista’s. Think about it, it makes total sense. To win a war against a strong opponent, an element of surprise is needed. You need an ace up your sleeves to ensure victory against a very strong opponent. I think this is the ace that Dragon has up his sleeves.
